Description
Toda Embroidery- Toda embroidery is an intricate needle-weaving art by women of the Toda community in Tamil Nadu's Nilgiri Hills. Known for its texture, and reversible embroidery using red and black woollen threads on white cotton fabric. They done it by counting warp and weft threads without using pre-drawn designs. Traditionl motifs are Ehr Kwehhdr (buffalo horns), zig-zab lines, Thur Puhur (W shape), animal heads and ears etc.
